Patron

Roger Taylor

We were thrilled when Queen drummer, Roger Taylor agreed to become an official patron of Cornwall Pride.  He has a long association with Truro having been a day boy at Truro School and spent much of his youth playing in local bands.  Leaving Cornwall he moved to London to study and there he met Brian May and Freddie Mercury and the rest.  As they say, is history…

Roger’s association continued when when his band ‘Smile’ with Brian May, played several gigs in Truro including the old City hall and PJ’s Club in Pydar Street. They would return later as Queen playing gigs in Penzance and Truro.

We are pleased that Roger is continuing his links with Cornwall and are thrilled that he is our patron.  Many thanks Roger.

I am indeed proud to be associated with Cornwall Pride.  To me this significantly represents the fact that Cornwall is truly part of the 21st century, which must be a positive change for the better. Onwards together.
