Pride has always been more than a celebration.
It began as a movement for equality. A movement built on ordinary people standing together to say that everyone deserves to live safely, openly and with dignity.
Today, that message feels more important than ever.
Across the UK, we are seeing increasing hostility towards LGBTQ+ people and other marginalised communities. Too many people are questioning whether they are safe to be visible, whether they belong, and whether they will be accepted simply for being themselves.
We cannot celebrate as though none of this is happening.
Because when any community is targeted by hate, we stand together rather than stand by.
This year, before the celebrations begin, Truro Pride will return to its roots with a peaceful Solidarity March, bringing together communities from across Cornwall in a visible demonstration of dignity, safety and solidarity.
This year, the march will be led by the Union Flag, the Saint Piran's Flag, and the Cornwall Pride Flag.
We have chosen these flags deliberately.
They represent our shared home, our shared values, and our belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, welcome and respected.
By marching together beneath them, we send a simple message:
Cornwall stands together.
We are inviting everyone who believes in a safe, compassionate and inclusive Cornwall to stand alongside us.

Our priority remains, as always, the safety and peace of our community. This will be a law-abiding, orderly, and peaceful demonstration. We are working in full cooperation with Devon & Cornwall Police and local authorities to ensure a secure environment for all participants.

When they try to isolate one of us, they face all of us.
At 12 noon on the 18 July 2026, Pride will march through the town centre of Truro with the world’s largest Progress flag.
The march will begin at Hendra Park and finish at Lemon Quay. Please gather at the start from 11:45am onwards.
Cornwall Pride Volunteer Marshals will line the march route along St George's Road and River Street. The march will take approximately 30 minutes.
Members of the public are welcome to join the march on the day on foot but if you would like to take part in the march with a vehicle (such as a fire engine or a police car) please contact us in advance to arrange this.
The march can get very crowded and lively but it is good fun. There will be music and celebration as we march to show support for LGBTQ+ people in Truro, Cornwall and around the world.
Volunteer Cornwall Pride Marshals and the Police will be available to provide assistance during the march.
The march aims to be civil, peaceful, safe and enjoyable for all. We are pleased to welcome a number of local organisations and their representatives who will be marching together with Cornwall Pride showing their love and support.

The Main Area
The main area of Truro Pride is on hard level ground and can get quite busy as this is a popular event. There are no drop curbs or steps.
Wellbeing Space
The Penguin Soup zone has a wellbeing space and enclosed sensory friendly gazebo where you can access adult and children size ear defenders (£5 deposit), fidget toys, games and more supported by mental health trained professionals.
What we don’t have
No wheelchair platforms or sign language interpreters
Do we have rest stops on the march route?
There are no designated rest stops on the march route, however there are several natural stops along the way and it is possible to leave the march by stepping to the side at any time if it does not meet your sensory and/or physical needs.
Are there any hills or inclines in either the march or the main area
Not in the main area. The march route is on a slight incline and decline and is suitable for manual and electric wheelchairs. This march is one that takes on average between 45-60 minutes due to the volume of people involved so may not be suitable for people who have limited ability to walk or stand for long periods
