Role Description:

Do you have a passion for coordination of LGBTQ+ events and management of volunteers in your local area? Do you understand the impact of a great charity? Are you engaging and friendly, yet professional? If so, our Cornwall Pride Community Lead position could be perfect for you. The Cornwall Pride community lead will spend the majority of their time interacting with the community and taking on responsibility for organising their local Cornwall Pride community Pride with support from the leadership team. Their primary task is to ensure our charity is consistently displayed and accessible to their local area. 

In this role, you will report to the CEO. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with event coordination of your local Cornwall Pride event
  • Engaging with the LGBTQ+ community and wider partner organisations in a professional and friendly manner
  • Representing our charity at networking events 
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for our charity
  • Responding to hate crime reporting concerns in-person, by phone, and email
  • Recording local community feedback and relay it back to the leadership team
  • Organise and attend monthly meetings with other Lead Ambassadors
  • Attending Cornwall Pride and partner events outside of office hours
  • Lead your local ambassador team
  • Support the Penguin Soup local mental wellbeing facilitator
  • Support local Cornwall Pride social media
  • Develop Cornwall Pride in your local community

Person Specification:

  • Lived experience of being part of or ally to the LGBTQ+ community
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, warm personality
  • Ability to work on a variable schedule
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
