Role Description:

Do you hold qualifications and experience working in the mental health and wellbeing sector or willing to undertake wellbeing training and want to make a real difference to LGBTQ+ people in your local area? If so, our Penguin Soup Facilitator position could be perfect for you. 

The Penguin Soup Facilitator will spend the majority of their time facilitating a monthly mental wellbeing drop in service in their local area as well as supporting Penguin Soup project delivery & Cornwall Pride wellbeing signposting.

In this role, you will report to the People Lead. Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with set up and delivery of your local Penguin Soup sessions.
• Engaging with the LGBTQ+ community to support well-being
• Responding to hate crime reporting concerns in-person and email
• Recording local community feedback and relay it back to the People Lead
• Attend quarterly meetings with other facilitators and the People Lead
• Attending partner events outside of office hours as required
• Support Penguin Soup social media interactions
• Develop Penguin Soup support throughout Cornwall.

Person Specification:

• Qualified counsellor or therapist 
• OR holds qualifications or is willing to train in MHFA and Suicide ASSIST.
  
• OR willing to undertake training
• Lived experience of being part of or ally to the LGBTQ+ community
• An active listener who is able to show empathy to a wide range of people
• Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, warm personality
• Ability to work on a variable schedule in a variety of settings
• Ability to work as part of a wider team
• Especialliy interested in people from the creative sector and people who work in nature.
